My life lately...

Hey friends! Did you miss me?! I missed YOU! Sorry about my week long disappearance from blogging. It's been a mixture of being busy AND having fun. Or maybe I've just been busy having fun;-)

Sometimes I don't have time to blog as much as I'd like to. And other times I don't feel like blogging as much as I think I should. (Does that make sense?) It all comes down to finding a balance that works for me that I feel good about. I can only be the type of blogger that I...AM. And if that means that I sometimes go a week (or longer) without blogging, then that's just what I have to do and accept as part of who I am. Word.

To catch you up, here's a little bit of what I've been up to lately.

Eating good food, of course :-)

Mexican style frittata made with eggs, refried beans, corn, onion, garlic, black olives, cilantro, cumin, chili powder, goat cheese topped with avocado and salsa. Served along side some greens and corn muffin :-)

Hanging with some beautiful friends and catching some good music. Hot Buttered Rum and Poor Man's Whiskey, anyone?

Coming up with new smoothie combos. (New to me, anyway. That's not to say this hasn't been done before!)

Vanilla Peanut Butter Peach Green Smoothie

~About 1 cup almond milk
~1/2 frozen banana
~1 peach
~1 heaping tbsp peanut butter
~1 scoop Vanilla Sunwarrior Protein Powder
~1 tbsp chia seeds
~1-2 large handfuls of spinach

Topped with Gorilla Munch :-) Yum.

Making love, drinking wine and baking apple pie with my love :-)
(But, you only get to see a photo of one of those things!)
Baked with love and apples from the trees in our yard!

Having a sweet photo shoot with my mister boy (who is about 10 months old now!)

Rearranging my room and discovering some forgotten inspiration under my bed.
I made this little collage probably over a year ago and it offered me some inspiration at the time. I wonder, did I rediscover it because I needed a reminder of some sort? Whatever the case, it is now hanging up on the wall by my bed :-)

Here's some more good food that I've been eating, because I just can't help myself and just have to show you!

Let's see...this was some kind of brown rice cous cous and veggie mixture, topped with a fried egg, some avocado and baby tomatoes. Delicious :-)

Mixed greens topped with a veggie burger, goat cheese, ketchup, pickles and guacamole.

Of course there has been a lot more happening in my life these days than food and friends, etc. but I just wanted to give you a mini update since it's been a while since I've posted.

I hope that you all are enjoying your lives and soaking up all the sweetness you can find! Much love and blessings to you! <3

Thanks Kaitlyn! It's hard not to enjoy such awesome things. ;-)
Love your posts. I'm kind of like you when it comes to blogging, meaning I'm definitely not an everyday blogger! Who cares? Blog whenever you want to. There's no point in doing something voluntarily when you don't want to do it! And just so you know, next time we (your readers) expect some pictures of all that wine drinking and love making. Haha!

Hehe :-) Aww thanks Jen! You're awesome.
Blogging is supposed to be an enjoyable hobby, and it's unfortunate that we often feel pressured like we have to post every day or meet some kind of post quota. We don't. Blog for you, hun. Blogs are about life, they shouldn't BE life. I'm still struggling with falling into a posting routine that works for me as well. I do love blogging and writing, but there are times where I want to go do something else, and I feel kind of guilty for it because I feel like I should be posting, or that people are expecting something from me. I think that as soon as blogging begins to feel like a chore, you need to take a step back and go out to enjoy life. Now I need to listen to my own advice lol.

Wonderful words of wisdom my dear! Thank you for always being so helpful, inspiring and sensible. I'm glad I'm not the only one who sometimes struggles with the whole balance of blogging. I know the most important thing is to just enjoy it :-)
Good food, good friends, good pie, good dog... what more could ya ask for?! :) Just curious & please don't feel obligated to answer, but do you have a job? I wish I had as much free time to do all the beautiful things that you do, just wondering how ya do it! I hope you have an amazing weekend Alaina! :)

Haha, I can definitely understand your curiosity Andrea, and why you would want to know. From my posts, it does certainly seem that I have a lot of free time to play and have fun. A lot of my posts about FUN, like this one, are usually about things I've done on the weekends and stuff. I choose to keep my job/work situation separate from my blog. I have plenty that keeps me very busy but I still manage to find lots of time to have fun and enjoy the many sweet pleasures of life. :-)
OH and I LOVE your inspirational collage. I'm glad I saw this today! Thank you!

Still working on my own posting routine. It's all about balancing the important aspects of our life, and some things like blogging, which is important to me, might have to take a back seat for a little while I deal with what life hands me at any given moment. :) The apple pie looks delicious. I spat out my tea laughing on that little line about only one photo . . . Glad you're having a good time.

Yep, it's all about balance! It's difficult to find that balance at times, but at least we try :-) Hehe, I'm glad I could make you laugh :-)
I've some apples from my yard to turn into beautiful pies, too!

I'm very happy to hear that I'm not the only one seeking balance! I know that it's all about doing it for yourself and having fun, that's the important thing for sure :-)

You are such a sweetheart, Natalie! Thanks for being such an awesome reader and supporter of my blog. I love your blog too. I may not always leave comments but, I'm so happy to have your blog as one of my favorites :-)

I would totally love to eat with you/cook for you anytime! Let's make that happen at some point in our lives!
Yes!! Next time I'm in the Bay Area, I would DEFINITELY love to hang out with you! please!
don't you just love how nourished and flavorful those foods are. Makes me feel so alive, or kinda like your pup! hehe.
