*Winner* and Spring Cleaning

Good morning my loves! When it came time to pick a winner for my giveaway I actually got a little sad. :-( Because I truly wanted everyone to win! I think I'm going to do lots more giveaways in the future. It's fun and it feels good :-)

The random winner for my "favorite things" giveaway is LINDSAY from Green Food, Green Thumb, High Heels. Congratulations Lindsay! Please email me your address so I can get your goodies in the mail to you :-)

I'm going to have to get creative with my posts for the next two weeks because not much baking is going to be going on. Woody and I are doing a little spring cleanse together. I'm so happy because this is the first time Woody has ever done a cleanse with me! I'm always trying to do short little detoxes and cleanses which are always difficult when Woody is drinking beer and eating cookies in front of me. I'm so glad that we're in it together to help support and encourage each other. We're not doing anything too crazy, we're just eliminating sugar, dairy, gluten, caffeine and alcohol. We're focusing on juices, smoothies, lots of salads, steamed veggies, rice, beans and just simple whole foods. I'm excited. Yesterday was the first day and I was already craving chocolate like a mad woman! I know it will get easier though.

Especially when I'm filling up on yummy things like smoothies in a bowl :-)

And yummy salads :-)

And tasty bowls of rice and veggies :-)

It doesn't look too different from what I normally eat, huh? Minus chocolate, pancakes, cookies, muffins etc. :-) I will definitely miss those things for the next two weeks but It's going to be really good for me.

Wish me luck!

Have you ever done a cleanse before? How did it go for you? I've done cleanses in the past but I usually never make it for as long as I intend to! This time will be different though ;-) Because I have Woody along for the journey.

Have a beautiful day! Much love <3

that is so excitcing that you and woody are going to do the cleanse together! it will be a nice bonding experience :)
i've actaully never done one (in a healthy way...) and am kind of intrigued. i've read that it's good to eliminate "irritants" once and awhile to give your body rest from digesting hard to digest things such as meat, dairy, gluten, sugar. question on the sugar part, will you be eating any? like maple syrup, agave, stevia?
i'll be here supporting yours and woody's cleanse!!

Thanks for your support sweetie! As for sugar, the only kind we'll be eating is natural sugar from fresh fruits. No dried fruits, no maple syrup, agave or honey. :-( I'm going to miss it big time! But it will be fun to see how creative we can get with what we have to work with. I've already made a couple healthy fruit smoothies that tasted so sweet and dessert-like! So, I know I'll survive. I would use stevia because I think it's amazing but I'm pretty sure it messes up my tummy. It makes me feel all gassy and bloated. Not fun!
good luck!!!!:) the first days are always the worst but i feel like a crave sweets way less with each day!
your rice and veggies look awesome and your smoothies are beautiful..that may sound weird but i mean colorwise:)
How exciting to be doing a cleanse! It will be interesting to see what creative things you can come up with to make :) I have never done a cleanse before, but you have inspired me to try!
Good luck with your cleanse! You'll do great. If you're hurtin' you could always try making something with almond flour. That's what I did on my cleanse - made some almond flour + coconut butter cookies.
I love your cleanse, and the timing couldn't be more perfect for me! My husband and I literally had this same conversation last night. I eat like that 90% of the time anyway, but those little "cheats' have been happening more and more. We decided to get back to basics, so keep me in the loop with how it goes for you and I'll do the same! Shine on, sista!
What, no chocolate? haha
That will be so good for you! It's hard to do things like that at my house since I live with a big family.
You've inspired me to go make a smoothie!! Excited to hear how your cleanse goes :)
Can't wait to hear about your cleanse! I have done 15-day candida cleanses before and love them, I just find I need to make sure I'm balanced and eating enough or it makes me feel a need to eat so much more once it's over (restriction leads to rebellion mentality). Can't wait to hear about how it goes and all of your yummy meals!
Cant wait to hear more! I want to do a vegan-y cleanse of some sorts! not sure where to start! <3 hopefully i'll learn more from your cleanse! =) yay!

Just stumbled upon your blog on Twitter and love it! I'm always looking for healthy recipes that still make your mouth water. Tried a cleanse once but it was just fruit (minus bananas) for days. Yours lookings much yummier! Good luck with the cleanse and I look forward to seeing what else you cook up!
