Smile lines :-)

Hey loves! How's it going today? I woke up feeling a little blah and head-achey this morning but it was nothing that a little yoga couldn't cure! I took a class at Thrive again today. It was so lovely. It was just me, two other women and our instructor. It was such a beautiful, intimate class. Before class began, I was chatting with one of the other ladies and our instructor. Somehow we got on the topic of appearances and aging. The women was talking about how getting older feels strange sometimes. You start getting these wrinkles and gray hair but you still FEEL YOUNG on the inside. I told her she should love her wrinkles and gray hair because she EARNED them!

Speaking of appearances....I got my eyebrows waxed yesterday :-)

I like getting my eyebrows waxed every month or so because I just really feel like it opens up my face more. Look, I have wrinkles too! But, I prefer to call them my smile lines :-)

Here's something that makes me smile.

I love my dogs :-) They make my heart happy.

Food makes my heart happy too! And my belly :-) Here are some thing I've been eating lately.

Two pieces of Udi's gluten-free bread toasted and topped with hummus, a fried egg, spinach, cilantro and sriracha sauce (aka: cock sauce.)

Baked blueberry oatmeal topped with banana, peanut butter and jelly.

Salad with spinach, carrots, tomatoes and a chickpea "mash" made with mashed chickpeas, hummus, nutritional yeast, dijon mustard, salt and pepper topped with cilantro and cock sauce

Grilled cheese on Udi's gluten-free bread with goat cheese, bilberry jam and apple slices.

 Mega Omega Granola

Smoothie (in a bowl) made with banana, dates, spinach, oats, hemp seeds, maca, vanilla, cinnamon, coconut milk and almond milk, sprinkled with a bit of cereal on top for crunchiness. I love smoothies but sometimes they just don't satisfy me enough because I really like to chew! I dig texture. So, making a smoothie and eating it in a bowl with something crunchy on top totally does the trick for me!

I'm getting up ridiculously early tomorrow morning for a road trip down to Orange County. I'm excited to visit some of my loves that I haven't seen in MONTHS. My friend's baby boy is turning 1 year old! I haven't seen him since he was just a couple months old so it's going to be amazing. I don't know what my blogging schedule is going to be like for the next 5 days but I am planning on bringing my computer with me so I'm hoping to hop on and do a little blogging while I'm down there.

Wishing you all a beautiful weekend of love, happiness and warmth.

"We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience."

(That is one of my all-time favorite quotes. I'm not sure who the author is. My very first yoga teacher used to always say it though. I love it!)

Wow, um, thank you Mary! I'm flattered because I really don't consider myself to have flawless skin at all! I drink a lot of water, eat lots of veggies, exercise, wash my face with honey and essential oils, exfoliate, moisturize, etc. I don't have a secret. Haha, I think it's just a combination of things that contribute to the overall health of my skin :-)

aww your dogs are precious. I have 2 black kitties that do the EXACT same thing and curl up together all the time. It's a ridiculous site to see and makes me smile every time :)

Love the cereal in a smoothie idea. Think I'll have to try that!

Your dogs are so cute! We have 2 as well - a German Shepperd and a Pomeranian. Such a great combination. Your current eats look fantastic, my favorite would probably be that blueberry oatmeal thingy. Yum!
I agree with you on the gray hair and wrinkles. I'm starting to get a couple of wrinkles on my own, and while I know it just shows experience, I'm sad that I'm aging! I kinda want to look young and fresh forever!

I love your mature approach to age and "flaws". Flaws and wrinkles make us who we are and show that we have LIVED!

Thank you for the skin comment! So sweet. I'm thinking of doing a post soon where I talk about my skin care routine, what products I use and what supplements I take. So if you can be patient, I will try to get on that post as soon as I can! :-)
