Fake it till you make it.

Hey everybody, how's it going?! I've been sitting here for a while, trying to assess how I'm feeling and if I really want to do a post or not. I decided that even though I don't feel like it very much, I'm going to anyway. Because often times, I don't realize how good something feels until I do it! You know? For example, when it comes to working out, sometimes I really don't feel like doing it. But, if I make myself do it anyway, it usually ends up feeling awesome and I'm grateful that I put in the effort. So, I'm hoping that will be the case here. :-) Fake it till you make it, right?

Last night, Woody and I went to the house of a friend who was celebrating his 40th birthday! It was a beautiful gathering of really sweet people and incredible music. There were some extremely talented and amazing people there. It was an evening full of jams, laughs, love, booze, chocolate, sushi and good company :-) It helped me realize how much I enjoy going out and connecting with people. Usually, I am SUCH a homebody. I go out every once in a while if there's some good music playing somewhere or if a friend is having a gathering. But usually, I am just super content being at home. Last night reminded me of how wonderful it is to be around like-minded people and beautiful souls, talking and laughing together. It's good medicine :-) I'm going to try and get out more often.

Here's what I wore:

That's a new skirt that I'm totally loving, by the way!

Here's me and Woody:

And here's what I made:

I asked my friend, who was having the birthday if he liked sweets. He told me that was into sweets like almond butter, coconut and raw chocolate. Well ok, my friend! Ask and you shall receive! This is a super simple little recipe that I whipped up in no time.

Chocolate Almond Butter Coconut Oat Nuggets

Simply combine all the ingredients in a bowl, mix together and then roll into a perfect little bite sized nuggets. I didn't add any form of sweetener because I felt that the Chocolate Almond Butter provided enough sweetness. Feel free to add some honey or maple syrup if you like things a little sweeter. And if it seems to dry, just add some more nut butter or a bit of coconut oil. These simple treats turned out super yummy and everybody loved them! I was pleased :-)

The night before last, Woody and I went out for a wonderful little sushi feast. We hadn't had sushi in weeks and I was really feeling like I needed it! We had to have sake too of course.

The feast:

Silliness :-)

It was super tasty. I always ask for brown rice instead of white rice because it's more nutritious. I feel like white rice is a waste of calories or something. Plus, I think brown rice tastes better.

Besides sushi, here are some other recent eats in my life:

Lots of salads, of course.

 And eggs :-)

Oh and DUDE, you have to make these croutons!

When I made them, I added nutritional yeast and used different spices like cumin and red chili pepper flakes. Holy moly, these are trouble! And magical too. They were there one second and gone the next! I don't know what happened ;-)

I'm really glad I went ahead and wrote this post, even though I wasn't feelin' it at first. I was right. I knew if I just put my energy into it, I would enjoy it. That's the lesson of the day for myself. If I feel like I don't want to do something, I'm going to just try and do it anyway. Because I'll more than likely end up enjoying it. But if I REALLY am not enjoying it, then I'll stop. I don't want to torture myself!  But challenging myself is a good thing. As long as I continue to honor myself too.

Thank you so much for the sweet comments about my "seven random facts about me." It really is a beautiful feeling to receive positive feedback with this blog. It's been a wonderful way for me to keep track of the things going on in my life and to share that with others. I appreciate those of you who are reading and enjoying and receiving.....me. Thank you :-) Sooooo much love to you!

I am lovingg that recipe! I only have mini packs of Justin's choco AB so I may try making them with plain AB and just add carob or something. Love sushi too- and I agree that brown rice tastes better! You and Woody are too cute. I really like the back of that white top you're wearing :)

yuuuum. I'm loving the almond butter balls! I made something similar yesterday with carob. They were delicious! I'm so happy you like those croutons! And I'm loving that skirt too. I like that it comes up in the front. I could never pull something off like that, but it looks fabulous on you!

Thank you ALL for the sweet comments! I wish Blogger gave me the option to post comments directly under each individual comment but for some reason, I can't figure out how to do that! So this will have to do for now. I appreciate the comments and feedback so much. LOVE to each of you! <3

Thank you Andrea! That is such a sweet comment :-) If you are feeling like you want to start a blog, I think you should! Like you said, it would be exciting for YOU! And if you wanted people to read it, you could just start by reaching out to other bloggers and commenting on their posts. That's how I've made a lot of connections since I started blogging. Just get some communication going and flowing! But, I think the most important thing about blogging is doing it for yourself, because it makes you happy. Good luck if you decide to start one! <3

Your outfit is beautiful, and you and Woody make such a cute couple! :)

Your chocolate almond butter coconut oat nuggets sound wonderful!! I'd love to make some! :)

As for sushi...well...I've never tried it before. I'm allergic to shellfish and I'm way too chicken to try raw fish! :) At least you're adventurous! :)
