YES! I love it! YOU are a beautiful, perfect gift to the world. Represent yourself!!!
"Like a flower she grows toward the light, without thinking or examining the process that moves her to do so." ~ from "Chocolat" by Joanne Harris
So, as I mentioned in yesterday's post, it was beer brewing day yesterday. I didn't really participate in the process much. It ended up being more of a bro thing for Woody and the guys.
It looked and smelled really good! Woody knows what up so I trust that it's going to be a wonderfully, hoppy IPA.
Kona was hanging with everyone while the brewing was going down.
I had just asked her, "Kona, you want a beer?!" Nooooo, actually I said, "You wanna play ball?" She is so cute and tilts her head to the side so much whenever I ask her a question or say a word she knows. She's so smart that she's even starting to recognize words when I spell them! (Sometimes I'll spell w-a-l-k or b-a-l-l to Woody or something when I don't want Kona to know what's going on yet.) But it's not working anymore cuz she caught on! Haha. She's such a little person.
So, since the beer brewing took place outside, I eventually ended up in the kitchen. I wanted to try and make granola bars since I never had before. I looked at a bunch of recipes online before trying out my own recipe.
- 1/2 cup gluten free crispy brown rice cereal
- 1/2 cup gluten free oats
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- 2 tbsp hemp seeds
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 3 tbsp peanut butter (I used PB & Co. White Chocolate Wonderful)
- 2 tbsp chocolate chips
I started by mixing all the dry ingredients in a bowl. Then I melted the coconut oil and peanut butter and mixed it into the dry ingredients. Then I poured the mixture into a pan oiled with coconut oil. I put it in the oven for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. When they were done, I waited a long time for them to cool. When I finally went to cut them into bars, they completely crumbled! Awwww man! So, my granola bars turned into granola. Which is actually fine by me. I ate it for breakfast this morning!
Looks legit, right?! I thought so. But really it was a crumbly mess. Perfect for cereal!
Next time I make an attempt at Granola Bars, I think I'm going to just follow a recipe to play it safe :-)
Woody went surfing this morning with some of his bros.
So, I have the house to myself! Which is really kinda nice sometimes. Since I posted a pic of Woody surfing, I'll also post my most epic surfing pic!
HAHA! That picture was taken over a year ago so I'm obviously a little better now! But I still only surf pretty baby waves. I'm not super hard core yet. :-)
I have a training session with Gorden later this afternoon but since we usually only focus on strength training, I think I might do a little cardio this morning! I feel like getting my heart pumping and breaking a little sweat. I'm also planning on cleaning the house. Man, it seems like I'm ALWAYS cleaning. It's hard to keep things tidy, especially with two dogs. What's it going to be like to have kids?!
Ok, well, I guess I'm going to get going. Thank you for stopping in and reading my little blog. Please feel free to keep the comments coming! I'd love to get to know whoever is reading. Much love and many blessings! <3
